6 Effective College and High School Fundraising Ideas

School is back in session! There are so many reasons that students hold fundraisers. This includes raising money for sports teams, trips, charities, and events. These six effective college and high school fundraising ideas will be sure to make your organization money.

Yard Signs

Sell customized yard signs for a simple school fundraiser. The options are endless, but here are a few ideas:

  • Proud to be an Eagle

  • A 2021 graduate lives here!

  • Patriot cheerleader

  • Proud Flashes parent

Give people the option to add their name, sports team number, or even a picture of themselves to the signs.

Branded Apparel

Set up an apparel table where there is a lot of foot traffic on campus. This could be at sporting events or in the cafeteria. Sell branded apparel that students and outsiders would want to wear. Make it unique with a logo, colors, or quote.

Change the apparel that is being sold with the season you are in. In warmer months sell t-shirts, tank tops, and shorts. In colder months offer long sleeves, sweatshirts, and sweatpants. This is a great time to set up at outdoor events when people want an extra layer to keep them warm.

Customized Accessories

Since masks are mandatory in many places right now, why not sell them for your next fundraiser? People love representing the school that they go to. Customize reusable masks to your school colors or add on a decal of your school’s mascot.

In colder months, fleece headbands and knit hats are popular fundraising ideas. This is something to consider because autumn is right around the corner.

Additional accessories that will sell year-round for a fundraiser are scrunchies, lanyards, and water bottles.

5k Run or Walk

A fun way to raise money for a high school or college organization is to hold a 5k event. This can be done both in-person and virtually. Hand out custom t-shirts that participants can wear during the race. Don’t forget to give the winners a special prize or medal

Sponsorship Opportunities

Organizations that hand out booklets should seek sponsors to add. Sporting events can include sponsors during streamed events and in the arenas. This is a money-maker for your organization while bringing awareness to those businesses.

Local Restaurant Partnership

Collaborate with a restaurant close to your campus to have a fundraising night. You can raise a portion of the proceeds from that night for your cause. Invite friends and family to come and show their support. The more people that attend, the more money you will make!

Many restaurants are happy to support schools close to their location. All you need to do is speak to the manager to figure out the details.
